Why money ain’t free?

The popular saying goes “money doesn’t grow on trees.” And while it’s a fun turn of phrase, it also happens to be true. Just like anything else of value, money requires effort to obtain. Whether it’s through earning a paycheck or investing in a business, acquiring money takes work.

Some people might think that printing more money is the solution to everything, but that just leads to inflation. Additionally, simply giving people free money doesn’t incentivize them to work hard and contribute to society. In fact, it could have the opposite effect. If people don’t have to work for their money, they may become lazy and entitled. Therefore, it’s important to remember that money isn’t free – it comes at a cost. The next time you hear someone say otherwise, be sure to set them straight.
